The Ladakh Ice Climbing Festival is celebrating its 6th edition this year. The festival showcases a unique semi-artificial ice climbing wall built by the local guides of Ladakh in Gangles village. Creating this wall requires immense time, dedication and teamwork.
As proud members of LMGA, we believe in teamwork and professionalism. Our mission is to promote ice climbing in India and across the globe while also engaging youth in this adventurous activity.

Event Location:
The festival will take place at Gangles village, located 12 km from Leh city. The serene surroundings and ice walls make it an ideal location for climbers.
Essential Gear:
Clothing:
- Thermal innerwear
- Warm fleece or padded jacket
- Waterproof outer jacket
- Insulated, waterproof pants
- Warm gloves, socks, and a woolen cap or balaclava
- Sunglasses to protect against snow glare
Footwear:
- Waterproof, insulated boots with a good grip
- Extra pairs of warm socks
Additional Items:
- Small backpack for essentials
- Reusable water bottle
- High-energy snacks (chocolates, nuts, etc.)
- Sunscreen and lip balm
- Camera to capture stunning landscapes
Ice Climbing Equipment:
- Only Helmet, Harness, boots will be provided. Rest all essentials will have to be taken care by the participants themselves will be provided by the Ladakh Mountain Guide Association.
Important Notes:
- Accommodation and Transportation:
Participants must arrange their own accommodation and transportation. The Ladakh Mountain Guide Association can recommend services from the Ladakh Taxi Union. - Registration:
