For an exciting 3-day Introduction to Rock Climbing Course in the area of Shey, Ladakh. This beginner-friendly course is designed to introduce participants to the fundamentals of rock climbing in a safe and supportive environment led by certified and experienced climbing instructors.

Course Details

  • Day 1 (23rd October 2026): Introduction to Rock Climbing & Safety
  • Day 2 (24th October 2026): Technical Skills: Belaying, Knotting and Climbing Techniques
  • Day 3 (25th October 2026): Outdoor Climbing, Practical Application & Closing Ceremony after Lunch

Location Detailed

The course will take place at the base of the Shey rock formations, a famous and scenic area located just 15km from Leh City, UT Ladakh. Surrounded by granite mountains and pristine landscapes, this is the perfect place to learn rock climbing and connect with nature.

Course Highlights

  • Day 1: Introduction to climbing gear, basic terminology, safety protocols, and practice on a bouldering wall.
  • Day 2: Learn belaying, climbing techniques, and practice on top-rope routes with instructors.
  • Day 3: Outdoor climbing in Shey with feedback on techniques and a closing ceremony with certificate distribution.

Who Can Join?

This course is ideal for beginners with no previous experience in rock climbing. It's also suitable for anyone interested in trying climbing in a safe, guided and friendly environment. All fitness levels are welcome, but participants should be in good health and comfortable with light physical activity.

What to Bring

  • Comfortable Clothing: Athletic or breathable clothes that allow movement. Bring a warm jacket.
  • Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • Utensils: Plate, spoon and cup.
  • Personal Items: Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses and a camera.
  • Lunch: Lunch and snacks will be provided, but bring your own spoon, plate and cup.
  • Please Note: Transportation to and from the Shey Rock Climbing area is Not Included. Participants must arrange their own transport.
