Announcement: Free First-Edition BLS & Mountain Medicine Workshop in Leh
We’re excited to announce that the Ladakh Mountain Guide Association (LMGA) will host its first-ever certified workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR and High Altitude Medicine on June 2, 2025 in Leh—completely free of charge! This inaugural event demonstrates LMGA’s strong commitment to advancing mountain safety education across the region.
With only 30 seats available, this unique opportunity offers participants:
- Free certification (valid for 2 years)
- First-ever LMGA-endorsed mountain medicine training
- Expert instruction from Dr. (Prof.) Anil Gurtoo
- Hands-on practice with mannequins and real-world scenarios
- Free lunch for all attendees
Participants will gain critical skills, including:
- Compliant CPR
- Management of altitude sickness (AMS/HACE/HAPE)
- Treatment of frostbite and hypothermia
The workshop is ideal for mountain guides, trekking operators, adventure sports instructors, and interested students or volunteers. The full-day session runs from 8 AM to 5 PM at our Leh venue: Eco Poplar Resort. Successful attendees will receive a free LMGA certificate in Basic Life Support (BLS), CPR and High Altitude Medicine.
